Our sauce has a unique, spicy and savoury taste with a sultry flavour truly authentic to the Caribbean island of Trinidad. The title pays homage to the originator of the family recipe from which the product derives its name.
Traditionally Trinidadian pepper sauce contains a blend of home grown Scotch Bonnet peppers, fresh garlic, pimentos, and Chadon Beni (a colloquial name for a type of culantro) — a tropical herb central to Caribbean cuisine. Though it shares a highly potent aroma similar to cilantro, it features long, dark green serrated leaves and holds its flavour much better. It is famously used as the foundation for Caribbean green seasoning, hot pepper sauces, and classic Trini street food like doubles and souse.
As Uncle Tyrone’s is produced in Australia we substitute Habanero peppers for Scotch Bonnet and coriander for Chadon Beni.
Your taste buds will be tantalised by the bombastic flavours unique to its region of origin; Sangre Grande in the northeastern corner of Trinidad.
Once you have tried it, I’m sure you find yourself saying … “Everything Taste Better with Uncle Tyrone’s!!”
